The Kansas City area has time to ponder the question of "why gigabit?" during this courting period with Google. We don't know how much it will cost per month (household or business) or how to take advantage of it but it is interesting to see who's setting up shop in town in order to potentially leverage Google to improve service offerings. Iowa-based <a href="www.lightedge.com">LightEdge Services</a> is one to keep an eye on. They like the idea of gigabit access for their cloud computing options and feel it will make it easier for consumers to consider and adopt cloud computing if it's being served in a gigabit market.
Let's hope other hi-tech firms follow their lead over the next few months.
